WordPress allows you to manually can set one or many posts to become sticky post in front page. To configure post so it becomes sticky:
1. Edit the post you want to set it become sticky, if you as the Admin,
2. in Publish widget on the right panel, click Edit on Visibility: Public,
3. then under Public radio button, there is another checkbox Set as Sticky Post,
4. click on the checkbox, and
5. click Save Draft or Publish.
Voila, the post is now sticking on the front page.
